No Injuries Reported in Friday Morning Apartment Fire

LEWISTON – At 8:30 a.m. on Friday, November 17, the Lewiston Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 321 1st Ave. First arriving crews found heavy smoke and fire inside apartment C. Residents in other units were reported to still be inside.

Crews attacked the fire with pre-connected hose line and the fire was knocked down in about 10 minutes. The fire was confined to one apartment with no spread to the surrounding units.

Crews remained on scene for 90 minutes to check for extension and overhauled the apartment. The department responded with three (3) structural engines, three (3) ambulances, two (2) chief officers, and one (1) fire inspector, totaling 18 personnel. Clarkston Fire also responded with one (1) structural engine and four (4) personnel.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

The estimated damage to the structure and contents is $50,000.

No firefighters or civilians were injured as a result of the incident.
