Old Ahsahka Fire Threatens Structures, Is 0% Containted

OROFINO – The Old Ahsahka fire was reported shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19 approximately 4 ½ miles northwest of Orofino, ID. The initial fire size was reported at 40 acres. Numerous fire engines, heavy equipment, hand crews, and firefighting aircraft were dispatched to suppress the fire. The fire is burning in grass and timber. Structures are threatened. Any evacuations, if needed, will be issued by the Clearwater County Sheriff’s office. The fire is currently 0% contained.
