Pullman Regional Hospital Welcomes Acute Care Surgeon Robert Conroy, MD, FACS

Pullman, Wash.–Pullman Regional Hospital’s surgery practice, Pullman Surgical Associates, welcomes Dr. Robert Conroy, Acute Care Surgeon.

Dr. Robert Conroy has more than 25 years of experience as a surgeon. He attended medical school at Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University, then completed general surgery residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. His previous experiences include General Surgeon, Trauma Medical Director, and Lead Surgeon at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital in Yakima, WA. Dr. Conroy is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Advanced Trauma Life Support Instructor.

“I want my patients to know I love being a surgeon and I value the opportunity to impact someone’s life for the better,” said Robert Conroy, MD. “To take good care of people, you have to care about what happens to them. I care and am committed to each and every patient I see.”

Pullman Surgical Associates opened in September 2021 as part of Pullman Regional Hospital’s network of clinics in the former office of Palouse Surgeons, on the hospital campus. The team of five physicians and nurse practitioners includes General Surgeons Dr. Nancy Panko and Dr. John Visger who see scheduled surgical patients, while Acute Care Surgeons Dr. Ron Martin and Dr. Robert Conroy provide 24/7 emergency on-call coverage. Johanna Taniguchi, RN, ARNP treats gastrointestinal issues including Crohn’s disease, GERD, IBS and ulcerative colitis.

The practice offers general surgery, endoscopy and gastrointestinal treatments for the region and utilizes state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgical technology, like the da Vinci robotic-assisted surgical system. The da Vinci Si model was first introduced at Pullman Regional Hospital in 2012 and is used by seven local surgeons for general surgery, urology and gynecology procedures. A dedicated da Vinci surgical team at Pullman Regional Hospital has more than 10 years of da Vinci specialized experience. Philanthropy helped fund the newest model, the Xi, which replaced the Si model in the fall of 2022.

Services at Pullman Surgical Associates are referral based but inquiry phone calls to the practice are welcome. Learn more: pullmanregional.org/general-surgery
