It is with great honor that the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office announces the retirement of K9 Nation. K9 Nation came to Sergeant Mike Chlebowski in September of 2013 and has provided a great service to Idaho County for the past 10 years. During this time, Nation has alerted on many vehicles resulting in countless felony arrests and misdemeanor citations, bringing great pride to Idaho County. A particular incident stands out in Nation’s career. In 2018, her alert netted both heroin and methamphetamine and gained the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office a 2011 Ford F250 pickup from an asset forfeiture. K9 Nation is not only a working drug dog, but a beloved family member and friend. While we are saddened to see her go, her retirement is well earned and her life with the Chlebowski family will be nothing short of paradise. Thank you to K9 Nation and her handler Mike Chlebowski for Nation’s years of service and countless hours of training. We wish you the best and hope you get all the ball throws and belly rubs that you deserve.
