REVITALIZING 5TH STREET AND BRYDEN AVENUE: GET READY FOR A SMOOTH RIDE!

We are gearing up for a transformation at one of our town’s busiest crossroads: 5th Street and  Bryden Avenue. Starting October 9, 2023, Poe Asphalt Paving, Inc. is set to kick off the project.

This isn’t just a patch-up job, it’s a mill and overlay that will smooth out the road. And here’s the exciting part-we’re aiming to wrap it all up in just two days! On October 9th, drivers can expect a full intersection closure, and on October 10th,drivers can expect a smaller single-lane closure.

While the intersection will be temporarily closed during the work, traffic will be detoured around the intersection and access to all properties will remain open.

Why are we doing this? Well, it’s all about safety! This facelift is a cost-effective way to enhance your commute through this intersection while we prepare for full-scale reconstruction in the future.

In September, we mailed out advanced notices to all property owners and residents from 4th Street to 6th Street, and Warner Avenue to Burrell Avenue.

You can stay in the loop with all project updates at https://www.cityoflewiston.org/766/5th-Street-Bryden-Ave-Intersection.

Sometimes road work can throw us a curveball. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and/or the project webpage for any updates or changes to the schedule. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this important work.
