Shop fire 928 Preston Avenue

On Wednesday, February 27th, at 6:16 PM, Lewiston Fire Department crews were dispatched to a fire located in a shop on Preston Avenue.

First arriving crews observed the shop to be siginificantly involved with fire. Crews using several hose lines were able to knock down the fire in about 30 minutes and remained on scene for about two and 1/2 hours in total.

The department responded with 3 Fire Engines, 3 Ambulances, and 3 Chief Officer’s. Lewiston crews were assisted with the incident by crews from Wheatland Fire, Asotin County FPD #1, and the City of Clarkston.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Contents and the structure itself are estimated at $525,000.
