(Lewiston, ID)  The Lewiston City Library plans to hold their Summer Reading Program Raffle on Friday, August 2nd.  There are 4 different raffles planned, one for each age group of the reading program.  One winner from each age group will receive a gift basket full of goodies obtained by the library through different forms of donations. The age groups are as follows; 0-5, 6-11, 12-17 and 18+.

Throughout this summer, readers of all ages have collected raffle tickets earned by reading books and completely bonus challenges through the Lewiston City Library.  Each participant has the opportunity to enter at least 6 tickets by reading alone.  There were over 1,200 participants in this summer’s program.

“Thank you to all those that signed up and participated this summer,” said Colleen Olive, Youth Services Librarian at the Lewiston City Library. “We love finding ways to keep the community involved.”

As the Summer Reading Program comes to a close for 2024, readers now get to look forward to “Genre Quest”. Genre Quest is a program that was created during COVID to inspire readers of all ages to pursue genres they may not necessarily find in their comfort zone.  The program spans from October 2024 to May 2025, and is an opportunity for readers to earn custom created collectible pins. The genre for October will be Fantasy/Horror/Paranormal, and all ages are invited to participate.  All you have to do is read a book within the month’s designated genre, and let a librarian know when you have completed your read. A photo of this year’s pins can be seen below.
