traffic safety mural depicts the culture and diversity of Clarkston citizens as they walk through a crosswalk

Clarkston, WA- Two exterior walls at Asotin County Community Services in Clarkston are getting a new coat of paint. Jeff Karlin, (who prefers to be called “Karlin”), is painting a traffic safety mural depicting the culture and diversity of Clarkston citizens as they walk through a crosswalk. He began work on the mural the beginning of June and is just now adding some color to it. The mural is set to be complete by the end of June with a ribbon cutting event happening later in July.

Karlin is a teacher at Lewiston High School as well as a sculptor, painter, musician, and children’s book author/illustrator. The mural is being funded through the Washington Traffic Safety Commission’s Look Out Asotin County pedestrian safety grant and is located at 5th and Poplar in Clarkston.
