**Update** – Fatal Crash on US95 Near Milepost 222 in White Bird

*** UPDATE *** The passenger of the 2015 Mercedes Benz, a 63-year-old male from Riggins, succumbed to his injuries. Next of kin has been notified.

WHITE BIRD, Idaho – Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred on November 29, 2024, on US95 near mile post 222 in White Bird.

At approximately 09:18 p.m., a 50-year-old male from Riggins was travelling northbound on US95 in a 2017 Lexus when he crossed over into the southbound lane. A 66-year-old female from Riggins was travelling southbound on US95 in a 2015 Mercedes Benz with two passengers, a 63-year-old male and juvenile female, when they were struck by the Lexus.

All parties were wearing seatbelts. The occupants of the Mercedes Benz were transported with critical injuries by ground and air ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Lexus sustained critical injuries and died at the scene. Next of Kin have been notified.

Traffic on US95 was partially blocked for nearly three hours.

The Idaho State Police were assisted by Idaho County, Syringa Ambulance, Salmon River Rural Fire, Grangeville Police, and Idaho Transportation Department.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
