Warrior Cross Country Maintains Spots in Top 20

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lewis-Clark State Cross Country maintained its top-20 standing in both NAIA polls, released by the national office on Thursday. The Warrior women moved up one spot to No. 12, while the men checked in at No. 17.

The LC State women had a strong start to their season with top-five team finishes at NCAA Division I meets. Brooklyn Shell led the way for LC State at both the Northwest Clash and WSU Invitational. The Warriors had four in the top 30 in WSU’s 6k.

On the men’s side, the Warriors were the top non-DI team to place at the Northwest Clash and second behind now-No. 8 Eastern Oregon at WSU. Carter Gordon led LC State in each race and had the fastest average mile time in the Cascade Conference last weekend.

Around the conference, College of Idaho maintained its No. 3 ranking in the women’s poll. Southern Oregon moved up to No. 8 and EOU dropped from the top 25. On the men’s side, both C of I (No. 7) and EOU fell one spot, and SOU fell three to No. 15. Oregon Tech is the fifth CCC school in the rankings at No. 21 while Northwest is receiving votes.
