Warrior Runners Maintain Top-25 Ranking

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lewis-Clark State Cross Country put together a strong showing at the LC State Invitational last weekend and both maintained spots in the NAIA’s top 25. In the poll released on Thursday, the Warrior men held at No. 11 while the women dropped one spot to No. 22. 

Both teams finished fourth as the top NAIA teams at the home meet on Oct. 8. Brycen Kempton (25:30) led the men’s team in 17th place. The top four finishers for the LC men crossed the line in a 10-second span, with Conner May in 22nd (25:35), Griffen Parsells in 23rd (25:36) and Brycen Brown in 26th (25:40). Connor Turpin also captured a spot in the top 30 in 29th (25:55). 

Around the Cascade Conference, Eastern Oregon moved up one spot to No. 4, while College of Idaho held tight at No. 9. No. 16 Southern Oregon and No. 18 Oregon Tech both remained in their previous positions, and Northwest is receiving votes. 
Geraldin Correa led the women with a 14th-place finish (18:27). She was voted the Cascade Conference Runner of the Week for her performance. Brooklyn Shell was two spots behind in 16th (18:41) and Clara Stephens finished 27th (19:22). Grace Dixon placed 31st (19:33) and Abigail Peightal was 34th (19:51) to cap the LC top five. CCC foe C of I remained in the No. 6 spot, and Southern Oregon stayed No. 10.
