KAMIAH, Idaho: August 16, 2024 – The Family of injured Salmon River Ranger District firefighter Justin Shaw has asked that while he is still in ICU, friends and well-wishers please refrain from attempting in-person visits to Sacred Heart Medical Center ICU. This is to allow for privacy for Justin and his family and to ensure a healing atmosphere for all other patients in the Sacred Heart ICU. Visitors outside of the family are not allowed in-person visitation to the ICU at this time.

The Shaw Family welcomes all prayers, cards, and emails of encouragement. Cards can be sent to the Slate Creek Ranger Station (304 Slate Creek Road, White Bird, ID 83554). Emails of encouragement can be sent to Justin’s brother Jordan Shaw’s email account at JordanShaw412@gmail.com and they will be read directly to him.

Please continue to direct all media inquiries to Jim Wimer at james.wimer@usda.gov or 208-451-4654.

Thank you for your patience and support as the Shaw Family navigates through this difficult time.
