Kootenai County, ID- On 06/20/2023 at approximately 1840 hours, multiple Kootenai County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a shooting that just occurred at the Wolf Lodge dumpsters. The victim, who is an adult male local to the area, called 911 and advised that he had just been shot at multiple times by a male, later identified as 43 year old Washington resident Michael P. Murphy. The victim explained that he had just stopped at the location to off load his trash when he observed Murphy digging through the dumpsters. The victim told Murphy that he can’t be going through the dumpsters and an argument ensued. Murphy became upset, retrieved a firearm from his own vehicle and fired it multiple times and then fled the scene. Neither the victim nor his vehicle were hit.
Deputies were able to locate Murphy and arrested him without incident. This case is still under active investigation and no further details will be released at this time.
