LEWISTON, Idaho – LC State Women’s Basketball coach Caelyn Orlandi announced the addition of Warrior alum and Lewiston native Cali Moscrip to the coaching staff on Wednesday. The former Warrior competed for LC State during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons.
“I am very excited to be adding Cali Moscrip to the coaching staff and I am looking forward to getting to coach with her by my side,” Orlandi said. “Cali grew up around Warrior Basketball, played Warrior Basketball, and now she is a Warrior Basketball coach. She is a Warrior through and through. Cali has a winning mentality and a tremendous work ethic, and I know will be a great coach and mentor to our players.”
Moscrip jumped into coaching shortly after wrapping up her career at LC State when she started the AAU program Border Town Basketball in 2020. The program has a middle school and high school team. She gained coaching experience at Jenifer Middle School as well as the coach for the school’s volleyball, basketball and track and field teams.
“I am super excited to be back in the Warrior Women’s Basketball program in this new role,” Moscrip said. “Being a Warrior is something special and I have been blessed with the opportunity to be a part of it in many different ways. I am looking forward to coaching with and learning from Caelyn on and off the court, and impacting the lives of our student-athletes.”
Moscrip is a Lewiston High School graduate and helped the Bengals to a third-place finish at State in 2015. She went on to play two seasons at Spokane Falls Community College, where she also competed in soccer and track and field, and helped the team to its first NWAC title in 35 years. She started all 34 games her senior season at LC and led the team in 3-pointers made (48) and assists (116). She was named a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Frontier Conference. |
