LEWISTON – The Lewis-Clark State Dance team announced this week its inaugural roster composed of 13 student-athletes. Five newcomers make up the roster, with two hailing from the LC Valley.
Two LC Valley natives make up half of the incoming class of Warrior dancers. Allyson Bittle calls Lewiston home and attended Asotin High School, and Greta Boreson comes to LC from Clarkston. Emma Goodsell (Boise, Idaho), Keirstan Knutson (Mountain Home, Idaho), and Rylee Oehlert (Arlington, Wash.) make up the rest of the incoming class.
“The energy is high as we enter our inaugural competitive dance season,” coach Christa Davis said. “Our incoming freshmen arrive with a variety of backgrounds. Some have focused primarily on cheer; Allyson lettered four years, Rylee’s team went to the Washington State Championships and Keirstan was an NCA 2022-23 All-American. I’m eager to see them translate this to the world of dance.”
The group enters the inaugural class with a mix of experience that ranges through different levels of cheer and competitive dance.
“Even more exciting, several of our new athletes come with impressive dance resumes,” Davis explained. “Emma took the overall title for both group and individual dance during the Axis Dance Competition in 2022. Greta demonstrated her dance prowess as part of claiming the Distinguished Young Woman title for Clarkston and was awarded first runner-up for Washington State. It will be awesome to see how our team comes together to represent LC State as its 13th varsity athletic team.”
