At 1:03 am the Lewiston Fire Department was dispatch to a reported structure fire at 1619 4th Street. First arriving crews found heavy smoke and fire from the attic of the structure. The first arriving officer from Lewiston Police Department was able to make entry into the residence and evacuate the 2 residents. Fire crews arrived and
attacked the fire with 2 pre connected hose lines and the fire was knocked down in about 20 minutes. Crews remained on scene for an additional 2 hours to check for extension and overhaul the fire.
The department responded with 3 structural engines, 3 ambulances, 4 chief officers and 3 fire inspectors, and received assistance from 1 engine from Clarkston Fire Department. 26 total personnel responded to the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
