Clarkston, WA: (November 28, 2023) – The City of Clarkston, WA, today announced the approval of a new economic development contract with Valley Vision (VV) Inc. at the City Council meeting last night. This contract incorporates key elements from VV’s recently adopted strategic plan, a groundbreaking initiative for the organization.
“We are excited to embark on this deepened partnership with Valley Vision,” said Mayor Lawrence, City of Clarkston. “Their strategic plan’s focus on measurable metrics aligns perfectly with our goals for driving economic growth in our community.”
The new contract also aligns Clarkston’s economic development efforts with those of Lewiston, ID, both communities of which have been VV clients for over 25 years. This alignment will help ensure that each work together to attract new businesses and to support existing ones.
The new contract prioritizes three core areas for economic development:
• Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR): VV will work closely with existing businesses in Clarkston to support their growth and encourage them to maintain a strong presence in the city.
• Business Attraction: VV will actively seek to attract new businesses to Clarkston, showcasing the city’s many advantages as a vibrant and thriving community.
• Product Development: VV will launch an effort to construct industrial buildings which supports economic development to land more manufacturing businesses deals.
This contract marks a significant milestone towards harmonizing economic development efforts for both Clarkston and Lewiston, ID, as VV also provides services to the City of Lewiston. The VV strategic plan, adopted in April 2023 and implemented in June 2023, represents the organization’s first venture into datadriven accountability through performance metrics. Since its launch, VV has demonstrated consistent progress in achieving the outlined goals.
