The RVers of Idaho presented the check to the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (IDPR) in January, saying it was a sign of increasing activity and support from the reorganized group for Idaho State Parks.
Formerly known as the Idaho Chapter of the Good Sam Club, the RVers want the public to know that they exist as a state-level entity and that they continue to support Idaho State Parks, said Ken Tetrault, president of the group.
“The RVers of Idaho are happy to be in partnership with Idaho State Parks and we look forward to an ongoing relationship,” said Tetrault, who along with his wife, Monica, directs the group. “And anyone who is interested in RVing in Idaho should check out our website (Rversofidaho.org).”
Tetrault said he hoped the money could go to improvements of the campsite pavilion at Bruneau Dunes State Park, a favorite destination for group members. The RVers group continues to build as a new entity following the Good Sam Club’s recent rebranding as Good Sam, which saw an end to state-affiliate chapters.
IDPR appreciates the gesture and the ongoing support of the group, said Susan Buxton, the department’s director.
“We work for the recreating public, and it is wonderful to receive this kind of appreciation from one of our important user groups,” Buxton said. “Thank you RVers of Idaho.”
