LEWISTON – The No. 6 Warrior women earned their 14th straight contest on Friday with a 95-61 rout of Multnomah on Friday. The first-year duo of Tatum Brager and Darian Herring combined for 37 points to lead LC State.
The Warriors dominated on offense and defense with a .545 field goal percentage and 45-27 rebound margin. Multiple Warrior freshmen had career-highs including Herring’s 18-point, 1-rebound double-double. Camden Barger dealt five assists to tie her high and Grace Beardin had six rebounds and four steals. Though not a career-best, Brager led all scorers with 19 points.
“I was very proud of the way we shared the basketball, scored in the paint, got second chance points and shot in-rhythm 3s,” Head Coach Caelyn Orlandi said. “Tatum Brager and Camden Barger came into the game in the first quarter and had an immediate impact for us offensively. Camden had one of her best all-around games of the season and Tatum came in ready to shoot with confidence. Darian Herring put together another solid performance for a double-double and even added four blocks to her stat line. Grace Beardin played with confidence and snagged six boards and four steals.”
The win improved LC State’s record to 22-2 overall and 18-1 in Cascade Conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions took an early 4-0 lead that extended to 7-3 by 6:18, but a triple by Ellie Sander and five straight points from Barger put LC in front for good at 4:14 in the opening frame. The Lions pulled within one with a minute to play before a 3 by Brager closed out the first 10 minutes with the Warriors in front 21-17.
The Warriors dominated the second quarter with a 22-4 run. After an opening bucket by Brager, Callie Stevens scored six before a layup by Lindsey Wilson grew the LC advantage to 31-19 with 4:25 to play in the half. A basket by Wilson sparked a run of 12, fueled by Brager, Herring, Beardin, and Sander, to close out the half with the Warriors ahead 43-21.
Layups by Wilson and Stevens capped the scoring stretch at 14 to start the second half. Another tally by Wilson started a rally of 14 points to make it 61-23 in favor of the Warriors by 5:31. The two teams traded baskets with LC leading 69-39 after three frames.
Brager hit back-to-back 3s to end a 10-point run in the fourth quarter. Baskets by Wilson, Stevens, Herring and Sander kept the margin at more than 36 for the remainder of the contest.
Brager led all scorers with 19 points on a 5-for-9 night from behind the 3-point line. Herring added 18 (9-for-13) with 10 rebounds, four assists and four blocks. Stevens scored 14 with four assists, and Sander and Wilson each scored 13. Sander and Barger led with five assists each and Beardin tallied four steals.
The Warriors shot 54.5% from the field (36-for-66) and 48% from 3-point range (12-for-25). LC outrebounded Multnomah 45-27.
Kailyn Allison led the Lions with 18 points and five steals and Gracie Browning scored 13.

The Warrior women host Warner Pacific on Saturday after celebrating Senior Night. LC State will honor seniors Maddie Holm and Stevens at approximately 3:40 p.m. with tipoff set for 4 p.m. in the P1FCU Activity Center.
