(Clarkston, WA) Timothy J. McCarty, of Clarkston, was reportedly arrested yesterday for 1st Degree Molestation and 1st Degree Rape of a Child.
According to official court documents, the Clarkston Police Department received a phone call from the Lewiston Police Department regarding a reported molestation. The victim had told the Lewiston officer that McCarty had reportedly been in a relationship with their legal guardian at the time of the crime, which had allegedly occurred 5 years before McCarty’s arrest.
The victim reportedly described multiple occasions of McCarty sexually abusing them before McCarty was kicked out of the home. According to court documents, the guardian allegedly told police that they did not report the crime to the police out of fear that the victim would be taken from their care and placed into the foster system. When the victim told their guardian about the abuse, their guardian reportedly removed McCarty from the home permanently.
McCarty was reportedly 60 years old at the time of the crime and allegedly told police that he has no memory of inappropriately touching the victim. However, he was reportedly “drunk most nights”. McCarty was able to recall the timeline of events previously described by the alleged victim but reportedly stated that nothing inappropriate had occurred.
McCarty was subsequently arrested and booked into the Asotin County Jail for 1st Degree Rape and Molestation of a child.
