GRANGEVILLE – As of 4:00 p.m., the Billy Creek Fire is estimated at 3,155 acres.
Fire crews have been using direct and indirect fire suppression tactics, meaning they’ve kept the fire perimeter as small as possible. Structure protection is in place through air support along the Snake River. Idaho Department of Lands has ordered a complex incident management team (CIMT). This team from The Northern Rockies will transition on Sunday to help manage this incident.
No aviation resources were required on the fire today.
The Billy Creek Fire is a brush and grass fire located in Snake River Valley near the Idaho/Washington border. The fire ignited on July 3, 2024. There are no evacuation warnings issued as a result of the fire.
