(Lewiston, ID) – Chase Caruso turned in the best finish of her young career on Tuesday to lead No. 20 LC State Women’s Golf at the Briarwood Shootout. The Pomeroy, Wash., native tied for fourth overall and all five Warriors in the scoring group placed in the top 10. LC State finished second overall as a team with a two-round score of 645.

“A better day today,” Head Coach Zach Anderson said. “From start to end, the women fought hard. Very proud of the battle they showed on this tough track. Chase had a solid event. I am extremely proud of her and her development thus far during her time as a Warrior. We will clean things up from this week and look to end the fall on a high note in Bremerton. Warrior Women’s Golf is trending.”

Caruso shot an 80 in her final round to finish in a tie for fourth. The sophomore finished with a 17-over, 161 to place one stroke ahead of teammate Giulia Belfontali. Belfontali carded a matching 80 in her round to cap the week with a score of 18-over, 162. The freshman started the round in strong fashion with an eagle on her second hole of the day.
