On September 27, 2023, at approximately 3:00 PM, Idaho County Dispatch took a call about a burglary in progress outside of Grangeville, Idaho on Johnston Cutoff Road. The reporting party stated no one should be in the house, as it belonged to a family member, and he didn’t recognize the vehicle in the driveway. Idaho County Deputies responded and met with the reporting party. He stated the man was still inside the residence. Deputies called the male outside, where he was subsequently arrested. Ernesto Herandez Cedillo, age 23, of Mesa, Arizona, was arrested for felony burglary, misdemeanor malicious injury to property and misdemeanor petit theft. We appreciate the members of our community looking out for one another, and especially commend the reporting party for seeing something out of the ordinary, calling the Sheriff’s Office, and waiting for law enforcement to arrive.
