The Idaho State Board of Education is now accepting research proposals from Idaho’s higher education institutions for its Idaho Global Entrepreneurial Mission (IGEM) Grant Program.
Administered by the Board’s Higher Education Research Council (HERC), past IGEM grants have funded projects in areas such as cybersecurity, disaster response, and a Food and Dairy Innovation Center.
The Idaho Legislature appropriates $2 million annually for IGEM grants. Selected proposals must align with the Board’s statewide higher education research strategic plan and leverage the talents and expertise of Idaho’s research universities and the private sector. Last year, nine IGEM projects were funded by HERC.
Pre-Proposals are due by October 28, 2024. Submitters will be notified not later than December 13, 2024 whether their proposal will advance to the Full Proposal stage, which will be due in late February 2025. Selection of successful applications will occur no later than May 1, 2025.
