Spokane, Wash. – Civic and service organizations form the bedrock of our communities, uniting volunteers around local needs and opportunities. This March, Innovia Foundation is proud to partner with the Pomeroy Spinners to spotlight the vital role these organizations fulfill across our region.
A volunteer-driven service organization, the Pomeroy Spinners has brought communities together since the 1970s to uplift local needs, offer community services and fundraise for regional projects and scholarships. The organization also sponsors community-building events that rally participants from Garfield County and beyond, including the Broomstick Pool Tournament, a free annual community Thanksgiving and the community Easter Egg Hunt.
On Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 3:00 p.m., the Spinners will host the highly anticipated annual community Easter Egg Hunt at the Crystal Springs Golf Course. This cherished event draws families from across the region for a day of free springtime festivities.
In a proud collaboration with the Pomeroy Spinners, Innovia Foundation is delighted to invest in this beloved community tradition. With approximately 4,500 sought-after Easter eggs ready to be found, the Easter Egg Hunt promises joy to children aged 0-12. To enhance the experience, Innovia Foundation will partner with Twisted Wire Coffee in Pomeroy to generously provide free cookies, hot chocolate and coffee for all attendees.
“Spinners’ members are excited to continue this great event for our community, one that brings smiles to hundreds of excited children,” says Tanner Cranor, President of the Pomeroy Spinners. “Support of the Pomeroy Spinners and the community Easter Egg Hunt exemplify Innovia’s commitment to enriching community connections and celebrations.”
In addition to providing free treats at the event, Innovia Foundation will award the Spinners a grant to support their community kitchen remodel. This investment is part of a series of events and activities Innovia is gifting to communities across Eastern Washington and North Idaho in celebration of the Foundation’s 50th Anniversary in 2024.
“Communities are stronger together,” remarks Shelly O’Quinn, CEO of Innovia Foundation. “We celebrate the invaluable efforts of volunteer organizations, like the Pomeroy Spinners, who bring people together to improve local lives and communities.”

Celebrating Community in 2024
Together with media partner NonStop Local KHQ, Innovia is Celebrating Community, a year-long, region-wide celebration of the volunteers, citizens and organizations that have faithfully served the needs of communities for 50 years in Eastern Washington and North Idaho. Each month, Innovia will gift the region with free, inclusive, family-friendly activities and experiences to commemorate the Foundation’s past, present and future of bringing people together to transform lives and communities. Event details will be released at the beginning of each month throughout 2024.
50th Anniversary Calendar of Events
In addition to Innovia-sponsored community events, the Foundation has launched an online calendar where individuals and organizations can submit information about celebrations and activities in their community. The calendar is open to any events within the Foundation’s region that are free or low-cost, family-friendly and have a broad community appeal. Calendar entries can be submitted at innovia.org/fifty.
Photo Drawing
Community members who attend Innovia-sponsored community events this year are invited to submit their photos from the event for a chance to win a photo drawing. Winners will be selected in March, June, September and December to receive a $250 grant to a nonprofit of their choice. Entries can be submitted by posting photos on Instagram with the hashtag #innoviacelebratescommunity or by submitting through an online form.
