LC State to Award 917 Degrees and Certificates at May 10 Commencement

LEWISTON – Lewis-Clark State College is expected to award over 900 degrees and certificates when it celebrates commencement with two ceremonies at the P1FCU Activity Center on Friday, May 10.

According to current projections, the college will award 917 degrees and certificates this year to 748 graduates, of which around 420 are expected to walk.

LC State’s first ceremony will start at 10 a.m. and will feature graduates from the School of Professional & Graduate Studies. The second ceremony will begin at 2 p.m., featuring the School of Liberal Arts & Sciences and School of Career & Technical Education.

Both ceremonies are open to the public and will also be streamed live at www.lcsc.edu/graduation.

The ceremonies will honor a number of individuals including retiring emeritus faculty members Debora Lemon, Jenni Light, Clay Robinson, and Lee Ann Wiggin. Longtime college supporter and area physician Dr. William Mannschreck will receive the President’s Medallion Award for his significant impact on the college and community, and his commitment to lifelong learning and the positive difference education can make.

Among the student awards, Grace Villelli will receive the Gertrude Mellen Dick Award, given to the student with the highest cumulative GPA for four years of undergraduate work; Tiara Yount will receive the President’s Award for outstanding contributions to the college, her division, fellow classmates and the community; and Tessa Guinn will be the recipient of the Provost’s Award, given to a high-achieving student who earned the majority of their degree credits through online coursework.
