Lewiston Structure Fire Results in $50,000 Estimated Damage

City of Lewiston Fire Department

At approximately 10:42 a.m., January 30, Lewiston Fire units were dispatched to a structure fire at 3322 5th St.. First arriving units reported smoke from a single story residential structure. Fire was found to be in the basement and made an offensive attack that quickly extinguished the fire. Salvage and overhaul of the building was completed prior to turning the structure over to the owner. The fire is currently under investigation.


Lewiston Fire responded with 3 engines, 3 medic units, and 3 chief vehicles and 17 firefighters. Clearwater Paper Fire responded with a Special Response vehicle with 2 personnel and Asotin County Fire District 1 responded with 1 engine.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries and damage is estimated at 50,000.00.
