The Pullman Police Department responded to threats at Pullman High School at approximately 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. School staff had become aware of reported threats by a student to bring a gun to school and shoot a teacher.
According to police, the suspects were quickly identified and intercepted upon arrival, before the start of classes. They were immediately sequestered away from other students. The school was temporarily placed in “secure and teach” status.
Upon investigation, police learned that several students had heard about the threats at school yesterday, but did not initially come forward with information. Police determined that two students had threatened to bring a gun and “shoot up the school”, starting with two specific student targets. At this time, no firearm has been recovered.
Pullman Police officers arrested two 14-year-old suspects. One suspect is a Pullman resident and one lives outside the city limits in Whitman County. Both are charged with Felony Harassment and Threats to Bomb or Injure Property. They were booked into Martin Hall Juvenile Detention Facility.
Pullman High School returned to normal operations. No injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
